The Career Development Office (CDO) equips students and graduates with the resources and skills to successfully generate and take advantage of professional opportunities. We recognize every job search is different and regardless of the practice area, job type, or personal situation, our office strives to be of service.
In support of this mission, the CDO guides JD students, LLM students, and alumni in the use of tools and strategies for successful job searches. The cornerstone of our service is our one-on-one career advising. The CDO hosts numerous programs and events designed to help students explore career options and develop vital job search skills. We present career panels, networking events, workshops, mock interviews, on-campus and off-campus job fairs, recruitment programs, and maintain an electronic job bank. The CDO also assists employers in their recruitment efforts by providing password protected access to our online job bank accessible by all students and alumni, as well as hosting on campus interviews and responding to requests for resumes.
The CDO has several career professionals available to provide advice on resumes and cover letters, discuss the job search process and help you explore a variety of career paths. Get to know your counselor as he or she is the key to a great amount of career-related information and events. All JD students will be assigned a counselor during their 1L year who will work with them throughout their tenure at UHLC. LLM students should click here to schedule an LLM appointment with a counselor.
