Tiffany J. Tucker

Tiffany J. Tucker, Assistant Dean for Career Development

Tiffany joined the University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) Career Development Office (CDO) after practicing transactional intellectual property and general corporate law at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and is a member of the New York Bar. Tiffany earned a B.A. in both Psychology and Sociology from Grambling State University, an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from Florida A&M University, and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law.
 
A native Texan, Tiffany is a former mental health counselor and professional development specialist. Tiffany oversees employer outreach and student career counseling, facilitates the Passport to Success Professional Development Program, manages recent graduate employment data collection and reporting, and provides one-on-one career counseling to alumni. Bill Powers

Bill Powers, Director, Judicial Clerkships & Externship Programs

A native Houstonian, Bill Powers earned a B.A. in English and History from Houston Baptist University and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. Bill joined the CDO after an alternative legal career as a managing editor for a respected legal publishing company. As Director of Judicial Clerkships & Externship Programs, he coordinates externships (for credit) and paid student and graduate job opportunities with government, non-profit, and judicial employers, including managing the annual Government & Public Interest Table Talk. He also oversees the Externship Program for students seeking academic credit for internships and teaches the Government and Nonprofit Externship I & II and Judicial Externship I & II courses. Chandria Jackson

Chandria Jackson, Director, Employer Relations & Development

Chandria is the Director of Employer Relations and Development for the CDO. In addition to career counseling, Chandria engages in strategic outreach to private- and public-sector legal employers to cultivate relationships and identify and develop new job opportunities for UHLC students and alumni. Chandria also manages UHLC’s On-Campus Interview Program (OCI)Sessions I-IV, UHLC’s Small and Midsize Firm Open House, and participation in off-campus recruiting programs.

Chandria earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.  Prior to attending law school, she earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked as a quality assurance engineer for a software company.
   
Chandria is a member of the Texas Bar, who joined the CDO after spending twelve years in private practice representing businesses in commercial and personal injury litigation with a midsize law firm and a national insurance defense firm. Email: ctjacks5@central.uh.edu

Paul Klinger

Paul Klinger, Director for Career Development

Paul joined the CDO after practicing employment law and serving as an EEO Consultant and investigator for a Houston-based corporation. Paul earned a B.A. in English at the University of Houston and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. He is a member of the Texas Bar and manages the UHLC Professional Mentoring Program. Paul oversees the counseling operations and professional development programming of the CDO and specializes in providing one-on-one career counseling to J.D. students in the UHLC Full-time and Part-time programs. Stewart Louie

Stewart Louie, Associate Director for Career Development

Stewart, a native New Yorker, joined the Career Development Office after practicing commercial litigation with mid-sized firms in New York. He is a member of the New York Bar. Stewart earned his B.A. in Political Science from New York University and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. Prior to firm practice, Stewart had interned with the New York County District Attorney’s Office and with the New York City Fire Department. He counsels students on employment and professional development matters and supports the CDO’s employer outreach, professional development, and alumni programs. Email: slouie2@central.uh.edu

Katie Metallo

Kaie Bodden, Associate Director for Career Development

Kaie joined the Career Development Office after working in the Appeals & Legal Issues practice group at Greenberg Traurig, LLP in Austin, Texas after law school. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Kaie earned her B.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and her J.D. from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Thurgood Marshall Law Review.

As Associate Director for Career Development, Kaie counsels UHLC students and assists with application materials and interview preparation in addition to supporting the office’s professional development programming efforts. Email: kbodden@central.uh.edu

Katie Metallo

Kaila Roberson, Associate Director for Career Development

Kaila joined the Career Development Office after working as a Senior Director of Legal Education at Kaplan North America, where she worked with law students on academic success and test preparation. A native of Mississippi, Kaila earned her B.S. in Agribusiness: Policy and Law, while minoring in Political Science and Economics from Mississippi State University. She received her J.D. and graduated cum laude from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law.  

As Associate Director for Career Development, Kaila counsels UHLC 3L students and assist them with finding temporary and post-graduate employment. Additionally, she supports the office’s professional development programming efforts, particularly the 2L and 3L Passport to Success sessions. Email: kroberso@central.uh.edu

Anne Elise Doise

Anne Elise Doise, Employment Statistics Consultant

Anne Elise is a native of Lafayette, LA and completed her undergraduate work in finance at Baylor University and subsequently, a Masters in Dispute Resolution at Southern Methodist University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University. After law school, she worked as a commercial litigator for a large Louisiana based law firm before joining the CDO as a Senior Career Development Specialist. She is a member of the Louisiana Bar and currently supports alumni in the pursuit of their post-graduate employment efforts and facilitates recent graduate employment data collection and reporting by implementing compliance protocols. Bhavika Shah

Bhavika Shah, Graduate Employment Statistics Consultant

Bhavika supports alumni in their post-graduate job search and ensures that graduate employment statistics are gathered and reported in compliance with ABA regulations. She first joined the Career Development Office as a Senior Career Development Specialist in 2013 after having practiced civil litigation and workers' compensation in Illinois. She graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois – Urbana, Champaign and earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law. Email: bashah2@central.uh.edu

Kecia Branch

Ashley C. Scott, Professional Development Consultant

Ashley, a native of Baton Rouge, LA, earned her B.A. from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL and her J.D. from Columbia Law School in New York, NY. Ashley practiced corporate and commercial litigation at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York and Patton Boggs (now Squire Patton Boggs) in Washington, D.C. While in practice, she served on the diversity and inclusion, recruiting, and associate committees at her respective firms, where she developed a passion for helping students and law school graduates develop the skills needed for a successful career.

Ashley left practice to pursue a career in education as a school administrator and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher in Peru, South America. After returning to the US, she joined the UHLC CDO as a Senior Career Specialist. She then served in senior career development positions at two other law schools before returning to the CDO as a Professional Development Consultant. Ashley supports the office in developing professional development programming and strategies and assists students with application materials and interview preparation.

Kecia Branch

Kecia Branch, Program Director 1

Kecia Branch is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans. Before joining the CDO, Kecia worked several years as a Legal Assistant and building manager at the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic & Center for Social Justice at Loyola New Orleans College of Law assisting Clinical Professors and clinic students. She also earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Kecia manages CDO programming and events, job postings, and employer and student communications. Salma Chavira

Salma Chavira, Program Coordinator II

Salma joined the CDO after beginning her career in academic administration as the Coordinator for the Psychology Internship Program at UTHealth Houston. Salma earned her A.A. from Houston Community College and is currently pursuing her B.A. in Finance at the University of Houston-Downtown. As the Program Coordinator for the CDO, Salma is responsible for the planning and execution of our mock interview program, facilitating employer campus visits for recruiting events and panels, and working with employers who recruit through the job bank.
