Off-Campus Recruiting: Job Fairs

Throughout the year, several schools across Texas and beyond hold job fairs for various practice areas. See the list below. Please note: Job fair event and registration dates are subject to change. Bidding and registration are generally a month (or more) before the job fair. Please contact your counselor if you have any questions about any of these job fairs.

1. Lavender Law Career Fair and Conference: July 2022 

Where: Los Angeles, California

Cost: Free for Law Students  

Career fair and conference with firms, corporations and public sector employers who are committed to the hiring and promotion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students and lawyers.

2. Houston Bar Association's (HBA) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Summer Clerkship Program: February 2022

Hosted by the Houston Bar Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. The HBA’s 1L Diversity & Inclusion Summer Clerkship and Mentoring Program gives racially/ethnically diverse and LGBTQ+ first-year law students the opportunity to apply for summer law clerk positions. For more information contact Paul Klinger of the CDO at pwklinge@central.uh.edu

3. Public Interest Law Career Fair: February 2022

Where: The University of Texas School of Law, 727 East Dean Keeton Street, Austin, TX 78705

4. Southeastern Intellectual Property Job Fair: TBD

Where: Georgia State University College of Law, 33 Gilmer Street SE Atlanta, Georgia.

Cost: Transportation to Chicago/lodging/meals/registration cost

Hosted by Georgia State University College of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. Employers from across the southeast United States interview rising 2Ls, 3Ls, and recent graduates interested in intellectual property law (IP) for summer associate and associate positions.

5. The Loyola Patent Law Interview Program: July 2022

Where: Embassy Suites Chicago - Downtown/Lakefront

Program Timeline: Student Timeline

Hosted by Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. Employers from across the country interview 2Ls interested in intellectual property law (IP) for summer associate positions and, to a lesser extent, 3Ls for post-graduate positions. A must attend for students interested in patent law.

6. Sunbelt Diversity Recruitment Program: July 2022

Cost: Transportation to Dallas/lodging/meals

Hosted by numerous law schools in the southern states in Dallas, Texas. Employers from across the country interview 2Ls for summer associate positions and 3Ls for permanent attorney positions. All 2Ls and 3Ls may participate.

7. KCMBA Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair: August 2022

Students who are interested in becoming part of Kansas City’s dynamic legal community should strongly consider attending this event.  Students who will be returning to school in August and those graduating in May are eligible to attend the job fair, as employers will be interviewing for both summer and post-graduate positions.

The HDLJF is the result of Kansas City's leading law firms, legal associations, and corporate legal departments coming together to encourage law students to practice law in Kansas City.  The HDLJF is designed to expose law students of diverse backgrounds to both traditional and non-traditional legal employers. 

8. Equal Justice Works Career Fair & Conference: October 2021

Where: Washington, D.C.

Cost: Transportation to Arlington/lodging/meals

The Equal Justice Works Career Fair and Conference is held each year in Washington, D.C. This is the largest national career fair for public interest law targeted towards 2Ls and 3Ls.
