Welcome Professor Vasilka Sancin, PhD visiting the UH Law Center August 31, 2022 – September 7th, 2022. Professor Sancin is a Full Professor of International Law, Head of Department of International Law and Director of the Institute for International Law and International Relations at University of Ljubjana. She will provide us with a short presentation followed by a few questions and answers.

Professor Sancin currently serves as a member and Vice-Chair of the UNHR Committee. Professor Sancin will present on its composition, mandate, structure, and functioning, highlighting some cases of recent decisions involving periodic monitoring of States parties' compliance with their obligations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and Views issued on complaints submitted by individuals arguing violations of their rights, including in environmental and climate change related issues.
