Impressive accomplishment for University of Ottawa students
The Secretary-General of the United Nations in his report to the 67th session of the General Assembly, acknowledged the contribution of the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, in the preparation of six studies for the Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs. Common Law students: Amy Lilliemay Derickx, Lucy Draper-Chislett, Saron Gebresellassi, Ahrum Lee, Marie-Michele Pellerin-Auprix and Catherine Smith contributed to this study.
As part of the 2012 spring semester seminar, “Documenting the United Nations Practice,” (CML 4108), the students participated in a collaborative project between the Faculty of Law and the Codification Division of the Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations involving the preparation of studies for the Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs. Under the supervision of University of Ottawa Ph.D. candidate, Saeid Mirzaei Yengejeh (formerly an officer with the Codification Division), and the overall direction of Professor Don McRae, students prepared studies of the practice of the principal organs of the United Nations in respect of specific articles of the UN Charter. These studies are now published by the United Nations in Supplement No. 10 of the Repertory of Practice. The studies pertain to Volume VI of Supplement No. 10 of the Repertory.
