Starting January 2012, Texas law requires all students under the age of 30 to be immunized against bacterial meningitis (SB 1107). Entering students will need to provide a certificate signed by a health care provider, or an official immunization record, verifying that the student has been vaccinated against bacterial meningitis or has received a booster during the 5 years prior to registration. Please check your shot records to ensure you are in compliance with this new law. The University has placed a hold on your student account that prevents registration for classes until this requirement is met.

Important Dates & NoticesAdmitted students commonly ask us how to best prepare for the first year of law school. Law school will be different from any academic endeavor you have faced, and the best way to be successful is to come into the fall semester with an understanding of what to expect. There are several fine books on the market, and we have included a list of some recommended titles below. These readings are optional, but past incoming students have found that reading one or two of the books was helpful. List of books recommended by the UH Law faculty for optional summer reading.
Law Preview is a 6-day program that provides an overview of law school for entering law students. It will be held at the UH Law Center July 29-August 3rd, 2013. Please note, enrollment in Law Preview is completely optional. We are making you aware of it because students regularly ask about programs like this one, and students who have enrolled in this program in the past have found it helpful in making the transition to law school. For more information about Law Preview, please visit www.lawpreview.com. Scholarships are available for Law Preview through the University of Houston Law Center Office of Admissions and the law firms of Bracewell & Giuliani and Thompson & Knight.
The deadline for the law firm scholarships is Friday, May 10th. The UHLC deadline is Friday, May 31st. These scholarships are only for students who will be enrolling at UH Law Center for Fall 2013. To be eligible, you must have paid your $200 enrollment fee and returned your registration commitment form (due in June), and you may not be committed to attending another law school. **This scholarship only covers the fee for the program. It does not cover living expenses, transportation costs, or any other incidental expenses.**
Need a roommate? Want to meet some of your classmates over the Summer? Have questions for current UHLC students?
