Harve Truskett

Biography
Professor Harve Truskett teaches Lawyering Skills & Strategies at the University of Houston Law Center. Prior to his appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor, he taught Professional Writing Strategies as an adjunct professor. Professor Truskett’s research currently focuses on the intersection of transactional law practice, legal pedagogy, and legal research and writing. In addition to his legal education experience, he taught eighth grade social studies in the Klein Independent School District.
Before joining the Law Center Faculty, Professor Truskett practiced law for fourteen years at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP in Houston, where he served as a corporate energy associate and then partner and co-head of the firm’s oil and gas section. His practice focused on energy mergers & acquisitions and the negotiation of commercial contracts. From 2000-2005, he worked as a management and systems integration consultant for BearingPoint, Inc. (f/k/a KPMG Consulting).
He earned a B.A. in government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994, and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2008, magna cum laude. During law school, he served as Executive Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law. He is a Texas Bar Foundation Fellow and admitted to practice in Texas.
