Rob Brownell

Rob Brownell is the Associate Director of the UHLC Law Library. He teaches Advanced Legal Research for Trial and Appellate Advocacy. Both courses are experiential and designed to prepare students for practice. He also helped develop the first-year legal research curriculum, including award-winning asynchronous modules recognized by the 2024 Bloomberg Law School Innovation Program.

Rob leads initiatives to modernize library services and scholarly communications, including implementing and managing library systems, redesigning and maintaining the library website, and overseeing ORCID adoption for law center faculty. He has presented nationally on legal research instruction, pedagogical methods, artificial intelligence, and the future of legal publication.

He holds a J.D. with a Certificate in Tax Studies from the University of Connecticut School of Law and an M.L.I.S. with a specialization in Law Librarianship from the University of Washington.
