Lawyering Skills and Strategies
Professor Swift joined the Law Center faculty in 2016. Previously he taught Legal Writing, Transactional Drafting, and Employment Law at Hamline University School of Law for 19 years. In addition to classroom teaching, Professor Swift developed and taught online courses for both the J.D. and Masters in the Study of Law programs. He has practiced civil litigation with several firms as an associate, partner, and in an of counsel role.
Professor Swift has published articles in law reviews throughout the country, many on employment law topics. Additionally, he has written articles for the practicing bar and for his academic colleagues on teaching legal writing and in the development of online courses. He has presented at national and regional legal writing conferences. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Hamline University School of Law and a B.A. in History from the University of Minnesota.
