Bill Powers
Director of Judicial Clerkship & Externship Programs
A native Houstonian, Bill Powers earned a B.A. in English and History from Houston Baptist University and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. Bill joined the University of Houston Law Center Career Development Office after an alternative legal career as a managing editor for a respected legal publishing company. As Director of Internship & Externship Programs, he coordinates internships, externships, and paid student and graduate job opportunities with government, non-profit, and judicial employers, including managing the annual Government & Public Interest Table Talk. He also oversees the Externship Program for students seeking academic credit for internships and teaches the Government and Nonprofit Externship I & II and Judicial Externship I & II courses. Bill is a member of the Texas Bar.
