EXPLORING BEST PRACTICES IN FAMILY MEDIATION introduces family mediation as a method of resolving disputes in marital dissolution, conservatorship, property division, parentage and suits affecting parent child relationship SAPCR.
The program is designed to meet training standards promulgated by Texas Chapter 154 Civil Practice and Remedies Code and Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable. It is also designed to conform to ABA, ACR, AFCC, TMCA Family Mediation Model Standards and Texas Supreme Court/Texas State Bar ADR Section Ethical Guidelines. Additionally, it provides 32 CLE hours including 5 hours ethics.
Trainees must satisfy prerequisites of a 40 Hour Basic Mediation Training, preferably within the past three years at A A White, mediation experience, and Child Custody Mediator Training, Modules 1, 2, 3 available on the Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) website. By March 1, 2025, information will be provided to obtain access to the modules, and myriad resources and training programs offered by the organization. Confirm attendance and completion by providing certificates to A A White no later than April 1, 2025. In addition to CLE/CEU earned by completing the Family Mediation program, 5 more hours CLE/CEU are earned by completing the Modules.
The target audience for this training is anyone from any profession with the prerequisites who wish to practice family mediation. The particular emphasis of the program is building mediation skills to develop mastery in litigation and non-litigation family cases. The training is designed to be attended in its entirety. The program is hands on, fast paced, interactive, and presented live via ZOOM.
