UH Law Center Earns 13 Educational Advertising Awards

March. 20, 2026 — The University of Houston Law Center’s Communications and Marketing Department has received 13 recognitions from the 41st Annual Educational Advertising Awards. This year, more than 2,000 entries were submitted by over one thousand colleges, universities, and secondary schools from all fifty states and numerous foreign countries.

“UH Law Center’s marketing and communications team works hard to elevate and promote the institution in a meaningful way, and we are grateful for the recognition from the Educational Advertising Awards,” said Carrie Criado, assistant dean for communications and marketing. “It affirms the team’s creativity, commitment and impact on behalf of the Law Center and its community.”

The Law Center was recognized in the following areas:

  • Category: LinkedIn Content (Gold) for UHLC’s "Discover the Power of Legal Education” video.
  • Category: Magazine Advertising-Single (Gold) for our 2025 Aspiring Lawyer magazine, offering guidance, practical advice and inspiring stories for undergraduate students wanting to be lawyers.
  • Category: Newsletter (Gold) for the Criminal Justice Clinic Newsletter “Empowering Justice” that shared highlights from the fall 2025 semester.
  • Category: Radio Advertising-Single (Gold) for UH Law Dean Leonard M. Bayne’s Briefcase segment “Powers of the Executive Branch” on Houston Public Media.
  • Category: Digital Video Ad-Less than 2 minutes (Silver) for the “Elevate Your Legal Career with an LL.M. from UH Law Center” video.

According to the publication, entries were judged on exceptional quality, creativity and message effectiveness. Gold awards were granted to 481 institutions, silver awards were awarded to 320 institutions, and bronze awards were awarded to 212 institutions.

The Law Center’s communications and marketing team consists of Carrie Criado, Assistant Dean of Communications and Marketing; Director of Communications Rashda Khan; Program Director Jaymie Turner; Senior Graphic Designer Dayna Hudson; Web Project Manager Ruth McCleskey; and Web Developer Baroness Adams.
