Houston, Jan. 9, 2025 – A federal court ruling in Kentucky just invalidated a Biden administration regulation that expanded Title IX protections to cover sexual orientation and gender identity. This decision has far-reaching implications for educational institutions nationwide, as schools receiving federal funding are no longer required to comply with the provisions of the now-vacated rule.

“It's important to note that while the regulations were previously suspended in certain states, this ruling extends the impact to all educational institutions that receive federal funding,” Chandler said. “As a result, policies that were being implemented or considered in compliance with the 2024 Title IX regulations will need to be reassessed in light of this decision.”
