April 28, 2023 — The University of Houston Law Center recently hosted its annual Dean’s Awards Ceremony recognizing the achievements of faculty, students and staff. UH Law Center Dean Leonard M. Baynes and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Monica Mensah co-hosted the event at the John M. O’Quinn Law Building on Friday, April 21.
“We are proud to celebrate the success of our faculty, staff and students with the Dean’s Awards. Many, many congratulations,” said Baynes. “I also want to thank our donors for their scholarship support.”
The academic excellence of UH Law Center students was acknowledged with the distribution of nearly 155 scholarships and awards.
LEX Awards recognize students who earned the highest grade in their first-year courses that included Constitutional Law, Contracts, Criminal Law, Procedure, Property, Torts, Lawyering Skills and Strategies, Introduction to American Law and Statutory Interpretation.
“The LEX award students received the top A in their courses, which is very impressive,” said Mensah. “Congratulations to all our recipients on their service, accomplishments, and papers. You are shining stars.”
