UH Law Center Marks Constitution Day 2025 with a Public Video Series Exploring the Amendments to the Constitution

Constitution Day

Sept. 17, 2025 — To celebrate Constitution Day, the University of Houston Law Center is releasing Dean Leonard M. Baynes’ video series and a one-page educators’ guide on constitutional amendments as free educational resources for teachers, community groups and the public.

The Constitution remains the foundation of American democracy, protecting rights and shaping civic life for more than 230 years. Dean Baynes’ series explains the history, impact and relevance of all 27 amendments. Designed for classrooms and community use, the videos and the guide break down complex constitutional issues into clear, accessible insights.

“Our Constitution is the backbone of our democracy and understanding the constitutional amendments is essential for every American,” Dean Baynes said. “We are delighted to make these resources widely available as part of our commitment to public service and legal education. We hope people from all backgrounds, walks of life, and political perspectives can deepen their understanding of the freedoms and responsibilities the Constitution affords us all.”

The series is available beginning Sept. 17 at UH Law’s U.S. Constitution page.
