Course Outline: This graded, substantive course complements the work that students are doing in their field placements. Students will be expected to give individual presentations relevant to what they are learning at their placements. Class readings/discussions include: confidentiality, ethics, and professional responsibility; expectations, conduct, and reality of externship work; learning from experience and reflection; workplace communication and feedback; community and social responsibility of lawyers; and job stress and job satisfaction. (Note: LLM students participating in an externship or health law externship are exempt from taking this course.)
