Course Outline: This class will deal with the chapter 11 bankruptcy process for business entities. There is no requirement or prerequisite to have taken either a bankruptcy course or secured transactions course. The class will meet one afternoon per week. The class is taught by a current sitting US Bankruptcy Judge and 2 active chapter 11 attorneys. A binder of cases and materials will be provided, there is no other course book. However, we will be using both the federal bankruptcy code (11 U.S.C. §101, et seq) and the federal bankruptcy rules, while these are available on-line, it is also possible to purchase a separate "mini-code and mini-rules" as an option. Active student participation (and attendance) is required.

Course Notes: Effective Fall 2012, this course will have a new title, changing from "Advanced Bankruptcy" to "Chapter 11: Business Bankruptcy." Co-Teacher Added (NEW) 1/10/13: Aaron Power  NO prior bankruptcy course is required for admittance to this course.

Prerequisites:  NO prior bankruptcy course is required for admittance to this course.
