Course Outline: Examines historical and contemporary perspectives on domestic violence, including interdisciplinary explanations for abuse; various types of abuse, such as physical, sexual/reproductive, and psychological; law enforcement and prosecutorial responses; availability of social services; relevant crimes and defenses and corresponding evidentiary challenges; and family law issues.
