Nathan Block is a litigator and environmental attorney with BP America. He has 20 years of experience focused on environmental litigation, permitting, regulatory compliance and transactional due diligence. From April 2010 until June of 2016, he worked on the spill response and associated litigation for the Deepwater Horizon accident. His most recent work has focused on supporting BP’s Remediation Management function in the resolution of Superfund / CERCLA liabilities at downstream facilities and for a portfolio of discontinued mining operations.
Nathan has been with BP since 2008. Prior to joining BP, he was in private practice with the Houston office of Winstead, PC. He has also practiced environmental enforcement in the Litigation Division of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and worked in-house for a national environmental engineering and consulting company. He is a trained mediator and has been a frequent speaker at seminars, authored numerous law review articles and contributed to several legal treatises.
