Meagan Baker’s practice focuses on both litigation and compliance including program design, enhancements, and implementation. She has performed work for Fortune 500 clients in industries ranging from retail to oil field services and conducted due diligence in markets ranging from Somalia to China. Meagan is also actively involved in the firm’s internal investigations practice and has experience assisting clients with civil and criminal regulatory enforcement matters, including meeting with regulators and debriefing clients on regulatory contacts.
Meagan's compliance work has spanned a variety of areas ranging from anti-corruption to licensing. She has conducted risk assessments in regions around the world and assisted clients with project management and data analysis. In 2014, Meagan led an effort to analyze a Fortune 100 company's policies spanning over ten different subject matters across five continents to identify program and policy opportunities. Meagan regularly assembles compliance program materials that are presented to Fortune 500 company boards. The same year, Meagan helped design a risk assessment process for an oil service company with operations in over 100 countries and currently overseen by a corporate monitor reporting to the U.S. Department of Justice. She also designed materials to reorganize the company’s compliance program and develop a three-year plan to enhance the company’s program. She regularly works with senior leadership at Fortune 500 companies on compliance and investigation matters. In 2015, Meagan conducted effectiveness reviews for a Fortune 100 company which involved hundreds of interviews and the collection and organization of thousands of documents that explored the company’s compliance program - working in four continents with the results of her work going to the Board of Directors. She has extensive experience is virtually every compliance area including privacy, trade, anti–corruption, and licensing.
As part of her practice, Meagan conducts benchmarking on behalf of the firm and assists the University of Houston Law Center with managing a Fortune 500 Code of Conduct database the firm helped the law school build in 2014 that spans three years of Code of Conduct data. She has used this database to assist clients with policy analysis and development ranging from an organization’s Code of Conduct to local market policies. She is also currently helping Ethisphere with statistics for the BELA organization.
Meagan is responsible for the firm’s Twitter account and posts articles on significant compliance trends. She has co-authored a number of articles about compliance and risk.
Meagan is a 2010 graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in psychology. She has dual citizenship with the UK.
