Hilary Reed joined the Law Center faculty in 2017 after teaching Legal Research
and Writing at Pepperdine University School of Law since 2007. Starting in 2014,
she also taught honors appellate advocacy and directed the Appellate Moot
Court Program at Pepperdine. Prior to entering academia, she was an associate with O’Melveny
& Myers LLP in Los Angeles where her practice areas included general litigation and corporate
bankruptcy.

Lauren Simpson joined the Law Center faculty in 2010 after 13 years as a staff
attorney for the First Court of Appeals of Texas. From 1994 to 1997, Simpson
was an associate at Meyer, Orlando & Evans, P.C. As a student at the Law Center,
she received the Best Speaker award in the John Black Moot Court Competition and participated in
multiple interscholastic moot court competitions.
