Sarah J. Morath joined the Law Center faculty in 2016 after teaching legal
writing, environmental law and animal law at the University of Akron School of Law. Before joining
academia, Professor Morath was a law clerk to the Chief Judge of U.S. District Court in Maine
and Maine Supreme Judicial Court. She is active in the legal writing community and frequently
presents at national and regional legal writing conferences. Her research interests include
environmental and natural resources law, food law policy, and legal writing pedagogy.

Katherine Brem rejoined the Law Center faculty in 2014, having previously
taught from 2000 to 2005. Prior to her initial stint at the Law Center, Brem
spent six years with Baker Botts LLP as an associate in the trial department. Her
research and teaching interests include the use of legal technology in practice, procedural issues,
and the introduction of the U.S. legal system to non-U.S. lawyers.
