Biography
Leslie Griffin holds the Larry and Joanne Doherty Chair in Legal Ethics at the University of Houston Law Center, where she teaches constitutional law, law and religion, torts, and professional responsibility. Professor Griffin's publications focus on law and religion, the First Amendment and professional responsibility. She is author of Law and Religion: Cases and Materials (Foundation Press, 2d ed. 2010) and numerous articles and book chapters, including most recently Ordained Discrimination: The Cases Against the Ministerial Exception.
Before moving to Houston, Professor Griffin clerked for the Honorable Mary M. Schroeder of the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and was an assistant counsel in the Department of Justice's Office of Professional Responsibility, which investigates professional misconduct by federal prosecutors. Her J.D. is from Stanford Law School and her Ph.D. (Religious Studies) is from Yale University.
