        Power of Diversity

Efforts to increase diversity in the American legal profession have gained momentum, and this year the Law
Center’s contributions to that mission were recognized with multiple national awards, proving that the school’s
                    innovative efforts are paying off.
The Pre-Law Pipeline program is one of the much-celebrated diversity initiatives instituted by Dean Leonard M.
Baynes when he became dean four years ago. The intensive, eight-week summer program is designed to introduce
low-income, first generation and historically underrepresented groups of undergraduate students to the demands
of law school and the opportunities of a law career. The program divides students into two tracks — LSAC’s
PreLaw Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program and Scholar II.
