June 12, 2019 - University of Houston Clinical Associate Professor Geoffrey Hoffman recently accepted an appointment on the American Bar Association's Commission on Immigration. Hoffman's one-year term will begin in August at the 2019 Annual ABA Meeting in San Francisco.
The ABA Commission on Immigration directs the organization’s efforts to ensure fair treatment and full due process rights for immigrants, asylum-seekers, and refugees within the United States. Hoffman, director of the Law Center's Immigration Clinic, was appointed by ABA president-elect Judy Perry Martinez.
“I am honored to be chosen for this commission,” Hoffman said. “The ABA has been instrumental in leading efforts to protect immigrants, educate attorneys and provide pro bono representation.”
