July 22, 2014 -- University of Houston Law Center Professor Jacqueline L. Weaver was honored last week by the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation for excellence in teaching natural resources law.
Weaver, A.A. White Professor of Law and interim director of the Environment, Energy & Natural Resources Center at UHLC, was presented with the 2014 Clyde O. Martz Teaching Award at the Foundation’s 60th Annual Institute July 17 in Vail, CO.
The award, introduced in 1994, recognizes excellence in teaching as well as efforts to foster a broad understanding of natural resources law, mentoring of students, and innovative teaching styles and other skills. It is named in honor of the eighth president of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, an esteemed teacher and editor of the first edition of the “American Law of Mining.”
