May 23, 2013 - The University of Houston Law Alumni Association presented 12 awards to alumni, faculty, and staff for their outstanding support of the Law Center and legal profession through the years. The awards were given Monday during the Law Alumni Association's annual meeting held at the Coronado Club. During the meeting the 2013-2014 Law Alumni Association Board of Directors slate was presented and approved. Click here for a complete Board listing.

"The recipients are an accomplished and generous group of professionals who have consistently given to the law school, to our alumni association, to our community, and to our profession," outgoing Association President Bill Jackson '92 said.

The board honored Professor Emeritus John Mixon '55 with the Faculty Distinction Award. Mixon retired earlier this year after 60 years at the law school. Fourteenth Court of Appeals Chief Justice Adele Hedges '74 was recognized as Alumna of the Year.
