Ohio State honors Olivas

July 26, 2011 - Law Center Professor Michael A. Olivas, third from left, and his guests enjoy the moment after his recent induction into the Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology Hall of Fame. Olivas was cited for his continuing efforts on behalf of immigrants, minorities and the poor. Holder of the William B. Bates Distinguished Chair of Law and director of the Institute of Higher Education Law & Governance at the Law Center, Olivas received his M.A. in English and Ph.D. in Higher Education and Organizational Theory from Ohio State. The professor rests his hand on the shoulder of his wife, Dr. Augustina Reyes, a professor of Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies in the UH College of Education.
