Jan. 24, 2022 – The Education Digital Marketing Awards (EDMAs) has presented the University of Houston Law Center with two awards for its marketing efforts. The Law Center was recognized as a gold winner for marketing of the inaugural Black Lawyers Matter Conference titled, “Strategies to Enhance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.” UHLC was also a merit winner for its work on the social media/video wall for its graduation microsite for the class of 2021.
“I am delighted and honored that the University of Houston Law Center received the EDM Awards for digital marketing,” said UH Law Center Dean Leonard M. Baynes. “The Black Lawyers Matters Conference raised very impactful issues of representations of people of color in the legal profession. I am excited in learning that the digital advertisements for the conference were equally impactful as demonstrated by the Law Center receiving this important award.
I am also excited that the Law Center was recognized for its graduation microsite. It is very meaningful that that this particular digital site borne out of necessity because of the pandemic has also been recognized.”
The UHLC marketing team consists of Carrie Anna Criado, assistant dean of communications and marketing, Elena Hawthorne, assistant director of communications and marketing, Jaymie Turner, program manager, Kevin Kao, senior graphic designer, and Ruth McCleskey and Baroness Adams, web developers.
The EDMAs recognize the best educational websites, digital content, electronic communications, mobile and social media. A national panel of industry specialists reviews each piece, judging creativity, marketing execution, message impact, technology application, and innovation content. Over one thousand entries from colleges, universities, and secondary schools across the country were submitted for the awards.
