May 10, 2021 - The 2021 Dean's Award recognized standout students and faculty for their success in the classroom and community. The event was held virtually in April.
"Our faculty are top notch, and our students continue to thrive despite ongoing circumstances that have been challenging," said Dean Leonard M. Baynes. "Congratulations to all the awardees and scholarship recipients."
Approximately 100 students received recognition for scholarships and awards. LEX Awards recognized students who ranked highest in courses that included Constitutional Law, Contracts, Criminal Law, Procedure, Property, Torts, Lawyering Skills and Strategies and Intro to American Law.
Four faculty members received the following distinguished accolades:
"Congratulations to all of our faculty winners and our students," said Associate Dean of Law Alumni and Community Relations Sondra Tennessee. "The awards given out are selected in a number of ways. Some are based upon students completing an application, interviews, performance in a class or performance in a number of classes. However the determination was made, we are happy to congratulate these students' hard work.
"We wouldn't be able to have this ceremony if it weren't for our generous donors. I also want to thank the Student Affairs Committee and Student Services team for their work. It truly takes a village to make these events happen."
