March 11, 2021 - University of Houston Law Center alumna Brena Baumann-Gonzalez ‘90 began her role as Senior Director of Development on Monday. She brings almost 28 years of high-level experience in philanthropy and development to the Law Center.

"My legal education has provided many professional advantages, and I am so grateful to the University of Houston Law Center," Baumann-Gonzalez said. "I look forward to working alongside Dean Baynes, the UHLC alumni, and the Houston legal profession to carry out our mission of training students and promoting research and scholarship."

Baumann-Gonzalez came to the Law Center from the Texas Children’s Hospital, where she served as its Senior Director of Philanthropy for more than eight years. Baumann-Gonzalez previously worked as the Senior Director of Gift Planning at the Baylor College of Medicine for 16 years.

"I look forward to Brena bringing her development expertise to the University of Houston Law Center," said Dean Leonard M. Baynes. "Brena's background has the added bonus that she graduated from the Law Center in 1990 and initially practiced law for three years before entering the world of philanthropy and development. Her specific legal background will be a major plus in her development role."
