University of Houston Law Center Professor Sandra Guerra Thompson

Jan. 21, 2021 - University of Houston Law Center Professor Sandra Guerra Thompson will participate in a continuing legal education discussion on the impact of gory imagery used in the courtroom at 10 a.m. on Feb. 19.

The event is entitled, "The Emotional Influence of Gruesome Photographs in the Courtroom," and is part of the 2021 American Bar Association Virtual Midyear meeting.

The presentation will be hosted by the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation, and is co-sponsored by the ABA Criminal Justice Section, ABA Litigation Section and ABA Young Lawyers Division.

Thompson is the Newell H. Blakely Professor of Law and director of the Criminal Justice Institute at the Law Center. She teaches Criminal Evidence, Criminal Law, Evidence and Hot Topics in Criminal Law and Procedure.
