Jan. 8, 2021 – The University of Houston Law Center will present the Joseph A. Vail Asylum workshop on January 29 addressing recent changes in legal immigration policies and migrant protection laws amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The workshop, “Immigration in the Time of COVID-19: Asylum and Beyond,” will feature topics pertaining to asylum, immigration court procedures and relief such as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), temporary protected status (TPS) and many other issues, as well how to utilize expert witnesses.
“This year we are honored to have three panels and keynote speaker, Ira Kurzban, the author of ‘Kurzban's Immigration Law Sourcebook,’ the preeminent resource for immigration attorneys,” said UHLC Immigration Clinic Director Geoffrey Hoffman.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. virtually via Zoom. Texas CLE credit is pending.
