March 24, 2020 — The Communication and Marketing Department of the University of Houston Law Center has won six awards, including three gold, in the 2019 Collegiate Advertising Awards competition for the nation’s graduate school programs. Awards were announced this month.
"Our team works very hard to showcase all that the University of Houston Law Center has to offer including top ranked programs, renowned law faculty and dedicated staff, and a powerful alumni network,” said Carrie Anna Criado ’95, assistant dean of communications and marketing. "We work closely with Law Dean Leonard M. Baynes on content and design for marketing materials and he too shares in this recognition."

The UHLC marketing team consists of Carrie Anna Criado, assistant dean of communications and marketing, Elena Hawthorne, assistant director of communications and marketing, John Kling, communications manager, John Brannen, senior writer and media relations representative, Jaymie Turner, program manager, Victoria Quijano, multimedia specialist, and Ruth McCleskey and Baroness Adams, web developers.
The Law Center Annual Report, which received a gold award, was prepared with the support of Assistant Director of the Law Foundation Helen Wang, and the Office of Law Alumni Relations led by Associate Dean of Alumni and Community Relations Sondra Tennessee. Additional Law Alumni staff members are Executive Director of Law Alumni Relations Hope Young, Director of Continuing Legal Education Tanisha Green, Director of Law Donor Relations Carolyn Taylor and program managers Cheryl Drew and Ashley Johnson.
Entries for the 2019 Collegiate Advertising Awards program were judged by a panel of design and education marketing professionals and competed against similarly sized colleges, universities, and other educational organizations. Promotional material in a wide range of categories were judged on creativity, layout/design, typography, production, quality and overall effectiveness.
