Jones promotes UH Law Center in Europe during multiple visits to academic institutions

The Université Catholique de Lille was one of several schools visited by Executive Director of Global and Graduate Programs Karen Jones of the University of Houston Law Center

Feb. 25, 2020 - Executive Director of Global and Graduate Programs Karen Jones recently returned from multinational trip to highlight the University of Houston Law Center. Among her stops were Belgium France, Italy, the Netherlands and Portugal.

In Paris, Jones met with Marta Vasquez, Associate Director of International Network and Development at the IÉSEG School of Management. Jones was hosted by Professor Andrea Perrone during her visit at the Universita Católica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy.

At the Católica Global School of Law in Lisbon, Portugal, Jones met with Dean Gonçalo Saraiva Matias and Vice Dean Armando Rocha. Jones began her trip by teaching the legal aspects of sports management to students at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

Jones also went to Brussels and Leuven in Belgium. In Brussels, Jones met with Erica Lutes and Elisabeth Bloxam of the Fulbright Commission. Lutes serves as the Executive Director and Bloxam is the Director of Programs. In Leuven, Jones visited Vice Dean of International Relations Michele Panzavolta and Frank Hendrickx, Director of the Labor Law Institute at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.

"As we continue to expand our global footprint, I'm looking forward to the collaborations between these incredible universities and the University of Houston Law Center that will benefit students and professionals in the legal community," Jones said.

"I'm happy to strengthen our existing relationships, build new ones and engage initiatives to enhance educational opportunities that create additional pathways for more students to spend time in the great city of Houston and attend the world-class UH Law Center."
