"Congratulations to all of you," Dean Leonard M. Baynes said in his welcoming remarks. "We're very proud of your accomplishments. We started this reception about four years ago because in law school you don't often get a pat on the back. Being in the top 30 percent means a lot because it allows you to write on the Houston Law Review."
Third-year student Brittanie J. Zinsmeyer, who will be clerking with U.S. District Judge David Hittner after graduating from the Law Center, delivered words of encouragement to her schoolmates.
"Ways to distinguish yourselves is to always be involved," she said. "Being involved at the Law Center has opened up so many opportunities for me. Congratulations and the next two years will go a lot faster than you think."
