Feb. 26, 2014 – In a current article, Professor Stephen Zamora, director of the Center for U.S. and Mexican Law at the University of Houston Law Center, finds successes and shortcomings in the year since an international panel met to discuss ways to improve relations between the two countries.
In the article published by The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel, Zamora sees qualified success in greater cooperation between the two countries, especially in the area of energy production, and in combatting organized crime. He sees little movement, however, in the area of immigration reform.
The original panel included U.S. and Mexican congressmen and aleading Mexican political analyst. Abbreviated versions of their comments are included in the article.
