UH Law Center’s Knake Jefferson to present lecture on U.S. Supreme Court at UH Hobby School of Public Affairs

University of Houston Law Center Professor Renee Knake Jefferson

Sept. 24, 2021 - To mark the start of the 2021 U.S. Supreme Court term, University of Houston Law Professor Renee Knake Jefferson, an inaugural Elizabeth D. Rockwell Center Faculty Fellow at the Hobby School of Public Affairs, will discuss her research on judicial shortlists and other observations about what the coming year could hold for the Court in an upcoming webinar on Zoom.

The virtual event will begin at noon on Oct. 4. The Elizabeth D. Rockewell Center on Ethics & Leadership at the Hobby School of Public Affairs and the Law Center are the co-presenters. It is free to attend and open to the public. Practitioners are eligible to receive  Texas continuing legal education credit.

Knake Jefferson, the Joanne and Larry Doherty Chair in Legal Ethics and Director of Law Center Outcomes and Assessments, was a recipient of the Faculty Fellows Award from the Hobby School of Public Affairs earlier this year. 

Knake Jefferson’s book, “SHORTLISTED: Women in the Shadows of the Supreme Court” was released in May of 2020. The Green Bag Almanac cited the book for exemplary legal writing earlier this year.
