Euguene Cook '66
Aug. 26, 2020 - Eugene Augustus Cook III, a 1966 graduate of the University of Houston Law Center passed away on Sunday. He was 82.
Cook served as a Justice of the Texas Supreme Court from 1988-1992. He worked at the Houston firm Butler & Binion after graduating from the Law Center, where he eventually made partner. In 1985, he co-founded his own firm, Cook, Davis & McFall.
While as a Law Center student, Cook was chief justice of the University Student Court and an editor on the Houston Law Review. In 1990, he was named a distinguished alumnus of the Law Center. He received his undergraduate education from the University of Houston in 1961. He received an LL.M. from the University of Virginia Law School in 1992.
