University of Houston Law Center adjunct professor Lawrence Hanson

Sept. 25, 2019 — University of Houston Law Center adjunct Professor Lawrence Hanson was named to two American Bar Association committees during the organization’s recent annual meeting in San Francisco.

Hanson will serve a two-year term as co-chair of the Customs Committee and as a member of the Advisory Committee on Gun Violence. Hanson will also continue to serve as the ABA liaison to the U.S. Mexico Bar Association and senior advisor to the International Ethics Committee.

Hanson has taught at the Law Center since 1993. His courses include U.S. Import Regulation and U.S. Export Control Regulation.

He established the Law Office of Lawrence W. Hanson, P.C. in 2001. His practice involves penalty and liquidated damage claims, the detention, seizure and forfeiture of merchandise and audits, civil and criminal investigations, and similar actions taken by Customs and other governmental agencies that regulate imports and exports. He also works in licensing, permit and registration requirements before various governmental agencies.
