Aug. 29, 2012 – The University of Houston Law Center scored a solid “A-" in a survey determining the “Best Value” law schools in the nation. The National Jurist compared average debt, tuition, cost of living, bar passage rate, and the weighted employment rate for 2011 graduates. In the self-reporting survey, the Law Center reported average debt upon graduation of $75,387, based on annual tuition of $28,130 and a cost of living of $16,122. The two-year bar passage rate was 90.34 percent compared to the state average of 84.08 percent. The employment rate (79 percent) was weighted based on the type of law-related position, ranging from full-time, long-term “bar passage required” to full-time “non-professional.”
