Nov. 9, 2011 – The Health Law Organization hosted a career panel titled “HLO Presents the Health Law All-Stars” which featured prominent attorneys in the Houston area. The panel consisted of Professor Jessica Mantel, co-director of the Health Law & Policy Institute; Gregory Etzel, partner in the healthcare practice group at King & Spalding; Randall Richardson, partner in the litigation section of Fulbright & Jaworski; and J. Richard Cheney, vice president of Legal Services at the Methodist Hospital System.

Law Center students heard about different areas of health law, including job descriptions of attorneys in government, in-house counsel, and the private firm setting. Speakers commented on how much the field of health law has evolved since the days when it was considered primarily a medical practice. The guest speakers elaborated on the growing areas of health law, suggested helpful courses students might take, and offered valuable advice on landing a job in the health law arena.
