Sept. 15, 2011 -- It was standing room only Tuesday when Chevron and three University of Houston Law Center student organizations hosted “A Day in the Life of a Landman” with an evening school student as one of the panelists. Anneka Burdell, in the orange top, works at Chevron as a “land-woman“ while attending classes at night. She described for the 100-plus student audience her role in dealing with land issues. Panelists also discussed the benefits of working for a corporation instead of a law firm. Chevron will be interviewing for Summer 2012 land interns in October.  The lunch hour presentation was the first of the Student Bar Association’s efforts to encourage co-hosting by various student groups. Co-hosts Tuesday were the Houston Business & Tax Law Journal and the Corporate & Taxation Law Society.
