One of the best days in a young lawyer’s career arrives when you learn that you have passed the bar exam. This week, the State Bar of Texas provided such a moment for 224 of our alumni – and I congratulate each of them on their accomplishment.
The percentage of first-time takers who pass the exam is an important metric of quality for law schools, and U.S. News & World Report includes the data as a component of its national rankings. The Law Center has continued its trend of outstanding performances in bar exam results, and this year finished second in the state with an overall pass rate of 93.33 percent.
Here’s a look at how the nine law schools in Texas fared in pass rates from the July bar exam:

The State Bar of Texas will swear in its newest members in Austin on Tuesday, Nov. 18, and the Law Center will host a reception honoring our high-achieving alumni immediately after the ceremony. I invite you to join me there to toast their accomplishments.
