William
H. Boothby. The law of targeting.
Oxford University Press, 2012 KZ6515.B66
2012 The Law of Targeting is a treatise on the rules governing all acts that are permitted under the law of war, including the study of factors that restrict the otherwise legally acceptable use of force. The author also discusses modern problems arising when the traditional law of targeting is applied to current issues such as asymmetrical warfare, cyber warfare and unmanned platforms. |

Steven
Andrew Light. The law is good: the
Voting Rights Act, redistricting, and black regime politics. Carolina
Academic Press, 2010. KF4893.L54
2010 The Law is Good is a history of the Voting Rights Act from the postbellum abuses that inspired its 1965 passage up through 2010. The author analyzes the Act and its consequences for voting, paying particular attention the Supreme Court’s evolving treatment of the Act. While missing the Supreme Court’s recent controversial decision in Shelby County v. Holder, this book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in understanding the public reception of and state government responses to that case. |
