This book examines the state of interrogations and the law in this area before the Miranda decision was made as well as the purposes and nature of the decision.  The author also identifies and describes problems with the implementation of the decision, such as the vague nature of the phrase “in custody” and the lack of standardization of Miranda warnings, and proposes recommendations for reinstituting the original goals of the decision.
