Herbert
A. Johnson. Gibbons v. Ogden : John Marshall, steamboats, and the commerce
clause. University Press of Kansas, c2010. KF228.G528J64
2010 Drawing
on recent research into the early Court, this book discusses the 1824 Supreme
Court case Gibbons v. Ogden. Untangling the issues and arguments
from the decision, the book reveals the lasting impact of this landmark case
on both commerce in the Early Republic and the understanding and growth of
federal power during the last 200 years. In doing so, the author
challenges the traditional view that Gibbons established that the
Constitution bestowed upon Congress an exclusive power to regulate interstate
commerce. |

the provisions relating to morality. This edition has been fully
