This book provides an overview of decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court that have both expanded and restricted rights of Latinos. Soltero provides an overview of fourteen important decisions beginning with the Fuller Court (1888-1910) and continuing through the Taft Court (1921-1930), the Warren Court (1953-1969), the Burger Court (1969-1986) and ending with the Rehnquist Court (1986-2005). For each case, Soltero includes a complete discussion of the opinion along with analysis of its significance and impact. He also includes history and legal background for the issues presented in each case which include criminal justice, voting rights, education, employment, immigration, and education.
