This book presents the story of the Wire Act of 1961 and examines how a law originally intended to stifle organized crime is currently being used, without success, to control internet gambling. By placing the act within the larger context of American ambivalence about gambling, David Schwartz has produced a provocative analysis of the illogic of an outdated law.
