Richard Alderman submitted the manuscript for Alderman's Commercial and Consumer Laws Annotated 2000 to be published by Grail and Tucker Legal Publishing and presented a paper on "Innovative Causes of Action Under the Uniform Commercial Code" for the State Bar Advanced Consumer and Commercial Law Seminar. He gave a presentation on "A DTPA Update" to the Houston Bar Association, the Angleton Bar Association and the Galveston Bar Association. He also talked to the following groups: Tomball Chamber of Commerce, Greater Houston Dental Association, Fort Bend Realtors Association, The Jewish Committee Center, Exxon Retirement Club, Bayland AARP and the League City AARP.

Richard Dole has just returned from Tsinghua University Law School in Beijing, People's Republic of China where he lectured on "The Uniform Electronic Transactions Act " and the Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act. He also participated in the selection of a Moot Court team that will compete in Tokyo, Japan for the Asia Cup.
Stephen K. Huber, Nancy Atlas and E. Wendy Trachte-Huber have edited a book entitled Alternative Dispute Resolution: The Litigator's Handbook, and published by the American Bar Association. The book was a project of the Litigation Section (not the Alternative Dispute Resolution section). He also spent two weeks at Pepperdine Law School where he taught part of a course on International Dispute Resolution.
Douglas Moll's article "Shareholder Oppression in Close Corporations : The Unanswered Question of Perspective" was published in the April 2000 issue of the Vanderbilt Law Review at 53 Vand. L. Rev. 749-827 (2000). He also received a request for permission to reprint the Vanderbilt article in the Corporate Practice Commentator edited by Robert B. Thompson. The article is slated to be cited in the new edition of Branson's Corporate Governance treatise. His article "Shareholder Oppression in Texas Close Corporations: Majority Rule Isn't What It Used To Be" was reprinted in the May 2000 issue of the Corporate Counsel Review at 19 Corp. Couns. Rev. 3-14 (2000) and finally he joined the articles committee of the Houston Lawyer, a Houston Bar Association publication.
Tom Oldham was interviewed by a reporter for the Christian Science Monitor for a story on premarital agreements.
Jordan Paust's article "Rediscovering the Relationship Between Congressional Power and International Law: Exceptions to the Last in Time Rule and the Primacy of Custom," 28 Va. J. Int'l L. 393 (1988) was selected as one of the articles published by the Virginia Journal over its forty year history that "chartered new paths and captured historic moments." An excerpt appears at 40 Va. J. Int'l L. 925-928 (2000). He has another article cited in United States v. Laden, 92 F. Supp.2d 189 (S.D.N.Y.2000). Also Paust, Fitzpatrick, Van Dyke's, International Law and Litigation in the U.S. and Documents Supplement is now in print published by West American Casebook Series 2000.
Irene Rosenberg's article "Teen Violence and the Juvenile Courts: A Plea For Reflection and Restraint" was published in 37 Houston L. Rev. 75 (2000).
Robert P. Schuwerk has been reappointed as chair of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct Committee of the State Bar of Texas for the 2000-2001 bar year. He has served as chair of that committee since the 1994-1995 bar year. The TDRPC Committee is responsible for drafting or reviewing all proposed changes to the ethical rules governing attorneys in Texas. He has also been selected to receive the President's Award for exemplary service to the State Bar of Texas during the 1999-2000 bar year. This is second such award. The award will be presented at the General Session lunch at the State Bar's annual convention in San Antonio on June 22nd.
Ira Shepard spoke on June 6th to the Houston Women's Attorneys in Tax and Probate on "Ethical Rules Governing Lawyers, Roosters and Other Professionals Relating to Inappropriate Relationships with Clients, Subordinates, Colleagues, and Others". On June 13th he spoke to the Houston Wednesday Tax Forum on the month's current tax developments and on June 14th at the Annual American Institute on Federal Taxation he talked on "Recent Federal Income Tax Developments Over the Past Year" in Birmingham, Alabama.
Ronald Turner's article "Employment Discrimination, Labor and Employment Arbitration, and the Case Against Union Waiver of the Individual Worker's Statutory Right to a Judicial Forum," has been published in 49 Emory L. J. 135-204 (2000).
